Nubian Slatelets
The Nubian Slatelets is a series of workbooks written for the emerging reader. Ma Famille Books has created this series so that Nubian children may practice their basic academic skills and color pictures with their own history in mind.
Ma Famille Books entitled this series Nubian Slatelets because of the ideas incorporated in these words. The mere sound of the word Nubian resonates, “new bein’”. We hope that as children practice with their own history that they will become positive, new beings.
The definitions of the word slate includes new beginnings, the color black, forget, chronicle, brief, specify, empower, suggest, submit. Therefore, we submit to you “Nubian Slatelets,” brief accounts of history chronicling Blacks contributions to American society and the world.
